In the Philippines, a National Committee sponsored activities throughout the Year and the University of Gregorio Araneta in Manilla declared itself a «Peace Zone».

With the collaboration of different organizations, a book promoting the Culture of Peace entitled "The Heart of Asia" was published and distributed to schools, learning centres and other educational institutions.
