Congo

A major programme for the Year has been coordinated by the UNESCO office in Brazzaville, including concerts, diffusion of the Manifesto in Lingala and Kituba languages, sporting events, seminars for the police and a special train, the "train de l'espoir."

Mozambique-Angola

In Mozambique, debates around the Culture of Peace took place on television and in the framework of workshops.
In Angola, an original initiative called "the bus for peace" was launched. 

Nigeria

In Nigeria, the Year was launched at a national event presided by the Chief of State, followed by a promotion campaign including the translation of the Manifesto 2000 into different Nigerian languages and the designation of cities for peace.
